About Me

I trained as doula in 2016 and have been supporting women and their families ever since.

I live in North Cornwall with my husband and three children, along with a multitude of animals on our smallholding – sheep, alpacas, cats, dogs & rabbits. My nearest towns are Bodmin and Wadebridge but I cover most of Cornwall and the Devon borders,

I work with women, whether they are choosing to birth at home, on a midwife-led unit or on the delivery suite. The most important thing to me is not the choice of location, but that you are happy with where that will be.

I strongly believe that having the support of a doula improves your chances of having the birth that you wish for (and the evidence is available to back that up).

I am passionate about ensuring women are knowledgeable of their human and birth rights throughout their pregnancy, birth and beyond. The most important role I can play in your experience is in signposting you to evidence-based information to make your decisions and then supporting you to feel empowered and as comfortable as possible throughout.

I have particular experience of working with women experiencing vulnerability such as domestic violence, historic or recent sexual abuse, those engaging with mental health services and women & families involved with other agencies such as social services. I offer non-judgemental support and am skilled at navigating multi-agency involvement.

I want all women I work with to be able to look back on their pregnancy and birth and feel proud of their achievement and satisfied that they had ownership of their situation.

If you want to know why I became a doula, have a read of the blogpost I wrote a few years back.
